Proview
Terms of use
Last updated: October 12, 2026
Proview is an open-source desktop viewer and editor maintained by Emanuele Longo. These terms describe use of the application and this website.
Software license
Proview’s original code is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 or later (AGPL-3.0-or-later). You may use, study, modify and redistribute it subject to that license. Third-party components retain their own licenses. Read the full license and project notice in the source repository. These terms do not restrict the rights granted by the software license.
Your documents and signatures
You retain your rights in the documents and signature artwork you use with Proview. The application’s software license does not apply to your documents or signatures. Use the app only with material and accounts you are authorized to access or modify. Review exported documents before relying on them and keep backups of important originals.
Proview places handwritten signature artwork on documents. It does not provide certificate-based digital signing or verify the identity of a signer. The effect of a signature depends on the document and applicable requirements.
Optional third-party services
Google Drive and S3 synchronization are optional and require your authorization or storage credentials. Your use of those services is also governed by their providers’ terms, quotas and policies. You are responsible for your storage configuration and who can access your archive. Proview is an independent project and is not endorsed by Google or GitHub.
Synchronization depends on network access and third-party availability. Offline changes may remain queued until you synchronize again. Disconnecting does not delete your local or remote signature archive. See the privacy policy for storage, revocation and deletion details.
Warranty and liability
Proview is provided without warranty, to the extent permitted by applicable law, as described in sections 15 and 16 of its software license. The license’s warranty and liability provisions govern the software. These terms do not exclude rights or protections that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Support and updates
For support, contact Emanuele Longo at longo.emanuele@gmail.com or use the GitHub issue tracker. There is no guaranteed response time. Releases and source code are available from the project repository. Future versions may change functionality; changes to these terms will be published on this page.
